Horses and sustainable development - new version
The rapport Horses and sustainable development was developed in 2016 to provide an overall picture of sustainability challenges in the equestrian field and to highlight good examples.
The purpose with the rapport is to contribute to an increased knowledge of sustainable development in the equestrian sport and at equestrian facilities. With a common ambition, four strong players have once again joined forces in the development of the new version.
The original publication is created in collaboration between Lövsta Stuteri, Det naturliga steget, Zero Mission, Got Event and the Swedish Equestrian Federation. It was released in Swedish in 2016 and recently translated in English.
- We are so happy and proud to be able to present a new version of the report "Horses and sustainable development". A lot has happened since the report was launched in 2016 and one really get´s inspired to see the upswing in the commitment to the environment and sustainability since then. We hope that everyone in the horse world can benefit from the knowledge and practical tips that "Horses and sustainability" conveys. There really is something for everyone in it. ” says Alexandra Mörner, Lövsta Stud
Horses and sustainable development has been updated with new information, useful tips and a completely new chapter on water. The report shows which areas the horse industry needs to focus on and highlights good examples.
"We want to make the water issue visible as the ongoing climate change increases the uncertainty about the availability of water at the right time and in the right amount here in Sweden as well." says Camilla Välimaa at HållbarHäst.
The new publication has been produced by Hållbar Häst and has been made possible thanks to funding and collaboration between the Horse Industry National Foundation, Lövsta Stuteri, the Swedish Equestrian Federation and ZeroMission.
